Scouting in Malaysia (then Malaya) started in 1908 & this year, Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia (PPM) as the largest youth organisation in Malaysia celebrates its 115th anniversary. PPM aims to develop good citizenship among boys/girls by forming their character; training them in habits of observation, obedience, & self-reliance; inculcating loyalty & thoughtfulness for others; teaching them services useful to the public, & handicrafts useful to themselves; and promoting their physical, mental, and spiritual development. The principles of PPM are founded on the basis of the Scout Promise and the Scout Law.
